We currently collect and process the following information: 

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, full name, date of birth, home address, phone number, email, date of procedure, area of body being tattooed which may include photos of the area).

  • Tattoo design ideas

  • Where you are travelling from

  • Transaction Data

How we get the personal information and why we have it 

We gather your information through the following methods:

  • Tattoo consent forms - this may include medical information

  • Social media messaging - including Instagram and Facebook

  • Direct email

  • In person

  • We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios. 

Online Booking Form

When you schedule an appointment by booking via our link, we collect personal information from you to complete the booking. We may collect information like your:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Details relating to your appointment (for example, who referred you)

  • Files you uploaded

We share this information with Squarespace, our scheduling service provider, so that they can provide online booking services to us.

Webform

When you submit information to this website via webform, we collect the data requested in the webform in order to track and respond to your submissions. We share this information with Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us. 

Website

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace collects personal data when you visit this website, including:

  • Information about your browser, network and device

  • Web pages you visited prior to coming to this website

  • Web pages you view while on this website

  • Your IP address

Squarespace needs the data to run this website, and to protect and improve its platform and services. Squarespace analyses the data in a depersonalised form.

Stripe Payment System

When you make a booking payment via Stripe using the link provided, they collect bank accounts and transaction data.  Please refer to section 1.1 of the Stripe Privacy Policy for further information.

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons: 

  • Liaise with DIE - MONDE about a tattoo design 

  • Book your tattoo appointment(s) or consultation(s)

  • Send you appointment reminders

  • Share aftercare information

  • Obtain written formal consent, provide services and respond to enquiries

  • Deliver requested information to you about our services

  • Ensure the billing of any procured services and obtain payment

  • Process and respond to any complaints 

Cookies

These functional and required cookies are always used, which allow Squarespace, our hosting platform, to securely serve this website to you.

To summarise the above, we use the information that you have given us in order to contact you directly (before and after your tattoo), design your tattoo, take payments, arrange your appointment(s) and to provide future DIE-MONDE updates.

We may share this information with DIE - MONDE COLLECTIVE, our studio collective.  We will not share your information with any businesses outside of our collective.

Data Processing - Legal Aspect

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: 

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting sarah@die-monde.com

(b) We have a contractual obligation.  We have a contract that requires us to process your data in order to comply with our obligations or specific counter-obligations eg. processing payment details.  Or we do not yet have a contract but you have asked us to do something as a first step eg. provide a quote.

(c) We have a legal obligation.  This may include but is not limited to insurances, consent and licensing requirements set out by Cornwall County Council or the relevant council if working as a guest tattoo artist.

(d) We have a vital interest.  For example, if you are involved in a medical emergency at our tattoo studio that requires emergency medical care eg. providing your information to an ambulance crew.

(f) We have a legitimate interest. We may process information on the basis there is a legitimate interest, either to you or to us, of doing so.

How we store your personal information  

Your information is securely stored.  

We keep the aforementioned information for a period of up to three years from the conclusion of service provision matters.  This is due to regulatory reasons and limitation periods in respect of any future claims or complaints and to ensure our business records are adequate to maintain the requisite levels of insurance to protect our clients and non-clients. We will then dispose of your information securely by permanent deletion unless you have consented to receive marketing communications.

Your data protection rights 

Under data protection law, you have rights including: 

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.  

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.  

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.  

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.  

Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. 

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
